“Cuts Like a Knife” Bryan Adams released “Cuts Like a Knife” in 1983. He wrote the song with Jim Vallance while jamming in the studio. They had the tape rolling when the idea suddenly occurred. They listened to the recording and it sounded like Adams, known for mumbling lyrics, sung “cuts like a knife.” The rest is music history.

The established song-writing partnership of Adams & Jim Vallance fulfilled its early promise and lead guitarist Keith Scott's restrained tasteful playing helped to bring out the best in the (mainly) Adams-Vallance compositions.
